Food Pantry Receives 1,000 Pounds of Canned Food

Many people in Broward County including the working poor, seniors, and children do not have enough to eat. Thanks to a recent large donation from the United Way of Broward County we are expanding our Food Pantry ministry.

*CORRECTION: It was reported June 8, 2011 that a donation of 2,000 pounds of canned food were donated by Goya Food. The actual figure is 1,000. Our apologies for the error.

Cokesbury was recently blessed to receive 1,000 pounds of canned food donated through South Florida Urban Ministries and the United Way from Goya Food, Inc.  The donations allow our Food Pantry to expand to a monthly food distribution program offered to anyone in need in our church and community.

New Food Pantry Days and Times

Thanks to this generous one time offering we are making Cokesbury’s Food Pantry available on the 4th Monday of every month from 4:30–6:30 pm.

You can make a difference in someone’s life

To assure the successful and future operation of this much needed ministry we are asking groups and businesses in the community to join us in donating food and/or gift cards so that we can purchase food items to keep the Food Pantry fully stocked. During these challenging times, we need to work together to bring this community back to self-sufficiency.  All donations are tax-exempt and your organization’s name will be freely advertised in our monthly newsletter, the Courier, for your generous support.

Needed Items

  • all non-perishable food items
  • peanut butter
  • tuna fish
  • paper grocery bags (used for distribution)
  • gift cards (used by Cokesbury to purchase items)

thank you!

Thank you for your support of this ministry through your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness. Thanks also to:
