First of all, welcome to Cokesbury! Even though you may not be with us, or even near our church we want to extend greetings to you. We are committed to Christ and his purposes, and so, we know that God has placed us at this time to be in Margate as a church to witness and reach out to the local community. Living your life with God at Cokesbury is what we hope you will choose to do. We would be delighted to have your family join with ours, and we look forward to growing in the Lord together with you! What To Expect When You Visit
What should you expect from Cokesbury? Our church is like a family, but since we are all brothers and sisters in Christ we actually are a family. Like any family we have grandmas who will love you to death with apple pie, and uncles who will love you with a tough love that you come to appreciate over time.
We are a family, and we aren’t perfect all the time, but we do love God and try our hardest to love each other with the kind of love God has shown us on the cross. It takes a lot of prayers, being there, giving, and service to make it work. But when its all said and done we are better people because of what God has done to us during the good and the bad times of being a family.
What We Offer
Cokesbury offers a lot for your journey of following after Christ. We have programs, Sunday School, small groups, classes, and annual events, but you won’t experience all we have to offer until you become involved to the point where you are giving something back to others. Whether its an accountability partnership, cleaning floors, fellowship, serving on a committee, evangelizing, fixing something, etc. you will be missing out from all we have to offer until you take Philippians 2 to heart.
How We Share Our Gifts
One of the most exciting miracles from God is the gift of the Holy Spirit, his presence on earth in the absence of Christ until he returns in final judgment. The Holy Spirit has granted to each believer gifts of the Spirit that bless the body of Christ when they are nurtured and equipped for ministry. 1 Corinthians 12 details just a few of these gifts.
