Jesus tells us that the world will know us by our love. His followers are commanded to go into the world to preserve what is good, and to spice up what tastes bland. In a world of senseless evil Christ calls us to be the preserving and seasoning salt of the earth. As we follow his command to teach the good news of his death for our sins, we also realize many in this world will know Jesus through our love and compassion as we help those in great physical need.
